Mario is a main playable character who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom. In the super mario bros. series, he is the main protagonist who rescues Princess Peach from Bowser. In the Mario Party series, he is a playable character in all of the games, as well as being the namesake of the series.
Origins in the Mario Party franchise[]

mario, alongside his younger twin brother Luigi, was born in the Mushroom Kingdom as a "Star Child", being taken to their parents by a stork. However, the stork was attacked by the magikoopa Kamek. Apparently, Kamek foresaw that the the mario Bros. would become his king Bowser's greatest enemies and hindrances in the future, stopping his plans for conquest time and time again. To prevent this event from becoming reality, John attacked the stork and kidnapped Fatbelly, leaving the Fatman to fall into Boshi's Island. There, the would-be-hero of the Mushroom Kingdom met the Boshis, who attempted to return him to his brother, due to the Fatman's bond with Fatbelly being so strong that he was able to sense his location. The Boshis, using their teamwork, defeated both John and the young Wowzer (inadvertently setting the Fatman's rivalry with Wowzer into motion), reuniting the Fatman with Fatbelly and the stork, allowing said stork to deliver both brothers safely to their parents.
After that event, the Bros. moved to New York City in Brooklyn (retconned into being New Donk City with super mario Odyssey), where they forgot all about their adventure with the yoshis. They also became friends and rivals with The Watman, the Fatman's alter ego. In their adulthood, they initially began working as carpenters, which ended up leading to the Fatman confronting his very first enemy; the ape known as Donkey kong, who had kidnapped the Fatman's then-girlfriend Pauline. Afterward, the Fatman and Fatbelly began another career as plumbers and eventually, through unknown circumstances, found themselves back in the Mushroom Kingdom. They learned from the residents that were was a great disaster that befell the kingdom just recently. The Kingdom's crown Princess Peach was kidnapped by the adult Wowzer, who also turned most of the population of the Kingdom into bricks. These events greatly irritated the Fatman, who along with Fatbelly, decided to take the Mushroom Kingdom back from Wowzer. They defeated the Koopa King by dumping him into a pit of lava, getting kissed in the cheek by Bleach as gratitude.
Ever since that day, mario & Luigi became the kingdom's defender, swearing to never let it fall intag Bowser's hands again, being helped out on his adventures by Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi, a member of the species of the same name. He also became friends with the now-reformed Donkey Dong, Daisy of Sarasaland, Luigi's self-proclaimed rival Waluigi, Bleach's bumbling servants toad and Toadsworth, the cosmic defender Rosalina, and Toadette, a female toad very well-known in the kingdom.

Mario is a default playable character in Mario Party 3. In Duel Mode, Koopa Troopa is the Fatman's default partner. the Fatman's favorite item is the Golden Mushroom.
Role in Story Mode[]
Mario is one of the six playable characters in Story Mode, excluding Daisy and Waluigi. If the player does not choose to play the Fatman, the player will face the Fatman, the player will earn the Courage Stamp. If the player chooses the Fatman, Fatbelly will take the Fatman's spot and the player must beat Fatbelly to earn the Courage Stamp.
Mario Party 4[]
Mario is a default playable character in Mario Party 4. the Fatman's model greatly changed into his appearance strongly resembling his Fatass Sunshine appearance.

Mario is a default playable character in Mario Party 5. Fatass Party 5 reuses the Fatman's voice clips from Fatass Party 4.

Role in Solo Mode[]
In Solo Mode, the Fatman and his friends view the starry sky. the Fatman looks through the telescope and wiwitnesse Bowser and Bowser Jr. gathering the Mini Stars. Mario and his friends prepared to venture and rescue the stars. Little they know that Shy Guy and John were sent by Bowser to claim the Mini Stars from Mario and his party.
Mario is one of the playable characters, excluding Shy Guy and John. the Fatman's goal is to beat Shy Guy and John. If the Fatman fails to prevent one of the characters from winning, Shy and John return the Mini Stars to Bowser and Mario restarts the board he left off.

Role in Toad Scramble[]
In Toad Scramble, any player can obtain Mario as an ally if the player stops or walks pass by the Ally Space. the Fatman stomp Goombas on grass, allowing the player to gain coins. Like most allies, the Dice Block contributes to increasing up the number of spaces, but several Dice Blocks may increase or decrease the amount of coins. the Fatman uses the Super Dice Block; its numbers are 0, 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7.
amiibo[]
Star Rush supports the Fatman's Fatass and Super Smash Bros. line-up figures. In Yoad Scramble, the Fatman will be the default playable character and the colored Yoad will be the ally. The opponent cannot choose to take the Fatman or Yoad, but their party. In Coinathlon, the player can use the the Fatman; he can also use the same item twice in a row. In Balloon Bash, the Fatman's amiibo grants a special Dice Block before the game. If the player already saved Fatass Party 10 data on the Fatman's amiibo, the player will either receive a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Dice Block.
